5 Minute Action for Tuesday, 3/21: Keep Pressure On Healthcare Vote Thursday!

Thank you to wall-of-us for these ideas to keep the pressure on the healthcare vote this week.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, a stunning 24 million would lose their health care under Trump(Don’t)Care, introduced a few weeks ago. We cannot let this happen. A critical vote is coming up this Thursday. 17 Republicans have indicated that they would likely vote against Trump(Don’t)Care, but five more votes are needed. Make sure your representative knows your position.

TODAY’s 5 Minute Action:

Step 1:  Contact your House Representatives AGAIN! (Don’t be discouraged if you’re in a blue area – blue staffers have said, they need to continue to hear from you!).

  • Call: Click here if you don’t already have the phone numbers: http://www.house.gov/htbin/findrep
  • Fax:  Use a free fax service and send a message to your House member by clicking here – House. You will receive an email to confirm this is a valid fax – be sure to confirm!
  • Script:  “I’m _[name]____ from __[zipcode]_____. I’m (calling/writing) to express my opposition to the GOP’s new healthcare bill and to urge you to vote against it during this Thursday’s House vote.  Among my many objections, I strongly oppose its creation of a tax credit system to replace Medicaid expansion that benefits the rich while leaving the poor unable to afford care, AND I strongly oppose the defunding of Planned Parenthood, leaving so many women without vital services.”
