Conflicts of interest for 45 continue to be very worrisome. Golf is a key part of Trump’s assets, and even Republican ethics experts have concluded that it is a conflict of interest for Trump to use the presidency to promote his resorts.
The US Golf Associate (USGA) awarded the Women’s US Open deal to Trump’s course in New Jersey. The sponsors for the USGA are American Express, Deloitte, Lexus and Rolex. Each of these companies have meaningfully committed to “doing well by doing good” through their corporate responsibility programs. By sponsoring the USGA which refuses to boycott Trump they are, however, fueling both misogyny and corruption.

Why are you still sponsoring the USGA, given its refusal to boycott Trump? Bi-partisan ethicists agree–it is wrong for Trump to use the presidency to promote his golf resorts. The USGA has also not denounced Trump’s disrespect towards women. As a major corporate sponsor of the USGA, your company is fueling unprecedented corruption and misogyny. Ask the USGA to boycott Trump or pull your sponsorship today!
- Sample email:
I am writing to express my disappointment in your sponsorship of the USGA, given its refusal to boycott Trump. First, bi-partisan ethicists have concluded that it is an ethical violation for Trump to continue to benefit from his businesses. Despite this, The USGA continues to hold key events at Trump resorts, including the upcoming US Women’s Open. The USGA has also not make any statements denouncing Trump’s repeated disrespect towards women. By supporting the USGA, you are fueling unprecedented corruption and misogyny.
I am encouraged that so many companies have shown courage and made public statements against Donald Trump. You are in a unique position to stand up for our democratic values and we hope that you will make a public statement pulling your sponsorship of the USGA soon. Your company claims that you value both transparency and inclusion, yet your sponsorship of the USGA contradicts that.
BREATHE AND STEP FORWARD!
